Experience and Expertise
We are one of the Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½'s longest-established specialist providers of legal education. Our origins can be traced back to 1876 with the formation of the leading tutorial firm Gibson & Weldon, and later on, with the establishment of The Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Society School of Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½. In 1962 the two were amalgamated to establish The College of Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½, and in 2012 we were granted our full university title. In 2016 we launched our Business School which has since seen expansion across our campuses and partnerships with leading international institutions such as GISMA Business School in Berlin.
We made history in 2006 by becoming the first independent institution to be granted degree awarding powers by the Privy Council, leading to the development of our professionally-focused Bachelor and Master of Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½s degree programmes.
In 2018, we announced our new Hong Kong campus which allows our students to learn in the heart of a leading international commerce and finance hub. Our first classes in Hong Kong took place in September 2019.
In 2021 we were awarded 5 stars in the QS World University Rankings overall and for the subject of Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½. We also achieved 5 stars in Teaching, Employability, Online Learning, Academic Development and Inclusiveness.
